Admission Requirements & Policy

In compliance with ACPS Board Policy LC and Code of Virginia §22.1-212.6, enrollment is open to any child residing within the Albemarle County school division. Admissions are determined by randomized lottery. A waiting list will be maintained, and efforts will be made toward an applicant pool reflective of the overall ACPS enrollment demographic, as per law.

  • Required: General Information Form
  • Deadline: Submit the General Information Form by January 26, 2024, 5:00 PM, for lottery inclusion. Late entries will join the waiting list in the order received.
  • Admitted Student Visit: In-person visit day for admitted students and families before decision deadline. 

Virtual Information Sessions

  • Thursday, November 16:  5:30 - 6:30 PM
  • Tuesday, December 12:  2:00 - 3:00 PM
  • Wednesday, January 17:  9:45 - 10:45 AM
  • NEW DATE: Tuesday, January 23: 6:00 - 7:00PM 

Register for any date here. A Zoom link will be shared the day of the session. Note: If you have not received a link by 30 minutes before start time, be sure to check your spam folder!

2024-25 Admissions Timeline

  • Admission Form Deadline: January 26, 2024, 5:00 PM
  • Lottery Results: February 2, 2024, 5:00 PM
  • In-Person Visits: February 12-16
  • Accept/Decline Seat: February 23, 2024, 5:00 PM
Waiting List Admissions (As Necessary)
  • Round One: Notified by March 1, 2024, 5:00 PM
  • Round Two: Notified by April 11, 2024, 5:00 PM
  • Round Three: Notified by May 2, 2024, 5:00 PM

Final Deadline to Accept/Decline Waiting List Seat: May 30, 2024, 5:00 PM

2024-2025 Admission Closes: June 1, 2024
